The Footy

As I mentioned in my previous post, Easter is a pretty big holiday in Sydney, so I’ve been fortunate enough to have a four-day weekend. It’s been pretty fantastic and we’ve had some awesome weather, so we’ve been running around trying to take advantage of the fun! Last night, we walked over to the Sydney Football Stadium and caught a pro rugby game. The local team is the Waratahs and for $20, we got to sit right on the field. Granted we were on the goal end, but it was still pretty cool for very cheap. A couple of VBs in our hands and we were two happy girls! Rugby is a very complicated game and Australia has three different kinds – Australian Rugby League (AFL), National Rugby League (NRL) and Rugby Union, otherwise known as Super 14. League and Union are fairly similar, but AFL is completely different. The Waratahs are a Super 14 team and the only Sydney squad, which is opposite from AFL and NRL, which have multiple teams in Sydney. It’s all very confusing, but still a great game to watch! I highly recommend it.

In other news, I am a Twitter newbie! I’m still learning though, so take it easy on me. ☺
