Neighborhood Exploring

Yesterday, we sisters went to explore all the neighborhoods we have driven through on the way to the beach. We're going full throttle on the apartment hunt, so we went to Woollahra, Bondi Junction and Paddington to scope the scene.

The first apt we visited was in a great area, but what we didn't realize was addresses in Sydney list the apt number, followed by the street address (i.e. 12/29 Nelson Street means 29 Nelson St., Apt #12). So needless to say we got completely confused. We ended up being at the right place, but couldn't figure out which building.

Feeling a little ridiculous, we went to Vodafone (yes, Nicolette!) and purchased a mobile for such times of havoc. We also popped into a Target to pick up a few items and I hate to say it, but our beloved hub of neccessity is just not the same as it is at home. Shaving cream, anyone, anyone?

We had a bit of rain in the afternoon, and we took the time to apartment search online and relax a little. Today will be another day of acclimating to the city and taking in all that Sydney has to offer.

Word of the day: Singlet (tank top)

Matt from the Vodafone store: Ah, you gals must be the envy of all your friends back home, just wearing your singlet and sunnies, in your flip flops while they're all freezing. I went to Manhattan and wore a sweater with a coat with a snowboard jacket on top and walked all the way from Madison Sq Garden to the other end. Never been so cold in my life.
